Internet/Network Security

Internal Server Solutions (Groupware)
"Groupware" in a nutshell, is a general term used to describe software/solutions that are designed to help groups of people work more efficiently and with more ease together. Some examples are:
File Servers: One, or more, computers are in charge of storing company files on the network and send them out to everybody on request. The advantage of this is to stop the syndrome of everybody working on the same document on their different isolated computers - normally leading to different versions of the same document. Rather confusing!
Internal Email Server: This can be used for your employees to send internal emails to each other internally (i.e. it does not have to go via the Internet - which obviously makes it ideal for confidential company information). It also means that external emails can sorted internally before delivery. This leads to all kinds of benefits.
Internet Gateways: A server can be setup to handle "handing out" the internet to all your work computers. Main benefits include better security and the ability to restrict employees to which web sites they can (and cannot!) visit.
